Labs
As an introductory class, the first half of the labs are will be pretty explicitly hand-holdy, whereas the second half of the semester will be a chance to stretch those critical (spatial) thinking skills we’re here to gain. Make sure you take a second and read the instructions and digest what it is they are asking you to do. If you are more computer savvy or otherwise technically inclined, feel free to try and guess or intuitively feel out the instructions instead. At the end of the day, these are just computers so the consequences of a bad input combination or operation are easily recoverable. These labs follow the class lecture, and only a few are topically cumulative, but they do progressively become more involved as the semester progresses.
If you need a refresher or have never touched GIS before, you might want to go back to the pervious class and rework the labs, particularly 2, 5, 6, and 8)
