Remote Sensing
Although a strict delineation would put quite a lot of our measurements of the earth within the “remotely sensed” (as opposed to in-situ), many of the techniques of used across remote sensing are natural extensions or applications of raster math to satellite imagery, which is what this section of reference materials contains.
- Band Index (NDVI, tasseled cap, wetness index)
- (S and T PCA)
- Image Classification (Supervised/unsupervised classification)” ([[SG.qmd]] Segmentation (Segment mean shift, object-based image analysis) [[classification.qmd]] #####)
- Image Streaching “Arranges the display of an image by adjusting brightness, contrast, and gamma properties.”
- Composite Bands (Composite bands)
- Pan-Sharpening
- Atmospheric Correction (Dark object subtraction, radiative transfer models, atmosphere correction)
- Photogrammarty
- Mensuration: “Measures the geometry of two and three-dimensional features in an image. (Angles, height, perimeter, volume)”
- RADAR (Synthetic aperture radar)
