This lab is a gratefully modified version of lab 6 from Bradley A. Shellito’s Introduction to Geospatial Technologies p442

Learning Objective

The goals for you to aim for in this lab:

  • Build simple and compound database queries
  • Extract the results of a query into separate GIS layers
  • Count the number of features within the boundary of another feature
  • Overlay two features for spatial analysis
  • Create and use buffers around objects for spatial analysis
